Morphe 3502 Review

Hi Loves!

So basically I have no willpower…I literally saw on Instagram that Beauty Bay, (great site by the way!) were FINALLY stocking Morphe’s 3502: Second Nature palette (I’ve been watching for it…) and I literally had to follow the link and buy it. I basically entirely blame Nikkia Joy (one of my all-time favourite beauty youtubers), she couldn’t recommend it more highly, and I had to see what the hype was all about!

For those of you that don’t know, Morphe is a cruelty-free makeup brand that produces very reasonably priced products. It is made in the US, but if you are a British babe like me you can get some of their products on Beauty Bay so you don’t have to pay all of those pesky importing charges.

I managed to restrain myself from touching it until I was ready to photograph and do swatches (let me tell you! that was hard!). So without further ado, I have some swatches of the palette for you.

Bottom right picture shows swatches of the fifth row (left to right); Fawn (Deep taupe brown matte), Stone (Ash brown matte), So Warm (Deep warm brown matte), Toast (Warm chestnut brown matte), Brunette (Deep plum brown matte), Muddy (Deep ash brown matte) and Whiz (Intense deep black matte).

There are 11 shimmer/foiled shadows and 24 matte shadows.

What do I think?

Starting at the beginning…

The packaging is made from Morphe’s typical black plastic with no mirror. It is a bit cheap feeling and looking but as far as I’m concerned that doesn’t fuss me if the eyeshadows are good!

The metallic shadows have a very silky consistency and provide intense pigmentation, I applied them to my eyes using a flat brush and some setting spray which worked great.

The matte shadows are also great, as would be expected a couple of colours are less blendable than others. However, they had a lovely soft consistency, good pigmentation and were very blendable. There was some kickup from the mattes but so long as you don’t shove your brush in the pan and make sure to tap off the excess this shouldn’t affect you much.

I have only applied some shadows to my eyes so far (Tan, Ablaze, Brick, In the Zone, Brunette, Amber and Pure) but these applied beautifully. The matte shadows blended together seamlessly without becoming muddy. I applied the shimmer with a brush and setting spray and found that the colour transferred onto the lid very well.

I can definitely say that I think the shadows in this palette are B-E-A-UTIFUL (In my best Bruce Almighty voice), it would be a great palette for pretty much any makeup lover (whether beginner or experienced).

The look I created using Tan, Ablaze and Brick in the transition, In the Zone and Brunette in the crease and outer corner and Amber on the lid as a half cut crease with some Pure blended from the inner corner.

I’m so glad you found it useful! I have heard that this palette has a slightly different formula compared to the originals, this and the Jaclyne Hill shadows are similar and a bit more buttery and blendable 😊😙 xx
