Nyx Mini Haul and Review

Hi Loves!

So recently I have been searching high and low for a reasonably priced, cruelty-free foundation…shouldn’t be so hard right? well unfortunately apparently I have a weird undertone so it’s not been that easy. HOWEVER I did find one finally at Nyx and of course, a couple of items might have fallen into my basket too…

First things first I was perusing the foundation range and desperately wanted the Total Control Drop Foundation, but alas it was not meant to be as none of the right shades had the right undertone (queue desolation). BUT, then Nyx pulled through for me! I managed to find a shade to match me in the High Definition Foundation (queue sighs of relief).

I picked up the HD Foundation in shade 101.5 Warm Ivory and it matches my neck perfectly (see below). The product claims to be a buildable coverage and I definitely agree, I applied it with a damp beauty blender and received a lovely light, natural coverage. I do suffer from redness on my cheeks that tends to peek through most light coverage but it built well to cover them. Overall I’m super happy with it and look forward to trying it with a brush.

Now onto my ‘accidental’ purchases…I somehow (ahem ahem) found myself in front of the lip section. I decided to give one of the ‘slide on glide on’ lip liners a go, I have heard great things about these liners and have been meaning to get a nudeish shade for everyday wear. I went with the shade ‘Alluring’ which is this lovely pink/nude, the liner texture is very smooth and applies super easily. LOVE IT!

I also picked up a Liquid Suede lip in the shade ‘Soft-spoken’ which is a beautiful mauvish nude. While this shade would be a nude on some skin tones on mine it is actually quite a deep colour but I love it. I’m a big fan of the formula, which I already knew since I already own two shades, but I will definitely purchase more!

This liner and liquid lip also look super cute together (see below), the liner helps to give it a more pinkish hue (Please excuse my poor dry lips).

That is all I got in my little super mini haul guys, I hope that you enjoyed it. Please let me know if you like this sort of haul/mini review in one type of post and I will keep doing them!

Big Hugs,

Pask x

I’ve been looking for some good drugstore lip liners recently so I think I’ll give the NYX ones a try! That colour looks so gorgeous on you by the way. It would be fab if you could check out my blog x

Hi! I found you on Twitter via the Girls Who Create chat – I subscribed to your blog too! I really have been wondering about this foundation, and I think I may have to give it a try now! That lip color is perf too! Nyx’s packaging makes me nervous because it’s always different than the color of the actual lippie. I can’t wait to read more of your posts! Your makeup is beautiful and I love your photos/style!

Hi! Thanks so much for following I really hope you like the content 😊

I’m so glad if this post has helped you make a decision! I really like the finish it gives my skin, I have combo skin that is normal with some dry patches and an oily t zone (if that helps).

I know exactly what you mean! I have to swatch everything to check the colours. For lip swatching apparently the tip of your finger is the closest to your lip colour so will give you the best idea.

Thank you so much for your lovely words 😍

I never knew that about the tip of your fingers! That’s such a good tip. Because I always swatch on my arm or the back of my hand and then get really bummed when it doesn’t look as good on my lips.
